The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), a charity founded in 1826, is a world-renowned centre of excellence for conservation science and applied conservation. ZSLs mission is to promote and achieve the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. Role Profile

Are you passionate about wildlife and conservation?  If so, the commercial department based at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo is seeking several Seasonal Hosts to join our Retail, Admissions, Hullabazoo Indoor Play and Car Park teams.


As a Seasonal Visitor Services Host, you will help to create lifelong memorable experiences for our visitors, supporting our vision for a World Where Wildlife Thrives. Working in a variety of positions, you will drive repeat visits by delivering the highest possible standards of customer service, presentation, and product knowledge in a fun, safe environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting into the Visitor Services Manager, the successful candidates will support their management peers with day-to-day commercial operations including customer service, queue management, merchandising, cash handling and stocking. As member of the ZSL family you will also have responsibility for ensuring compliance of Health, Safety & Security in the Workplace in line with set policy.

Person Specification

  • Experience in a customer service role (beneficial).
  • Fun, dynamic, and friendly personality.
  • Experience in cash handling (beneficial).
  • Excellent communication, listening and motivational skills.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience of Retail and Admissions till Systems (beneficial).
  • Must be flexible and able to work weekends, holidays, and special events.
